and dates of the festival
1. The eighth edition of the Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico (SSFFM)
will be held from September 6TH
to 11TH 2012 in Mexico City with venues in the National
Cinematheque (Cineteca Nacional), Cinemex, Cinemas Lumiere, MUNAL (National
Museum of Art), , Instituto Italiano de Cultura, Universidad de la Comunicación,
Faros, public parks. During all the year the festival has a tour in México
City, some cities of the country and abroad.

-Selection
1. The committee for Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico
will select the films that will be presented in the competitive sections of the
festival, which will be part of the official selection. The committee will
choose the films SSFFM that will form the competitive exhibitions and special
programs.
Conditions
of Registration
1. Registration for the competitive sections to the Festival
2013 can be done from March 15th to May 31 2013.
2. Short films produced in 2010, 2011 and 2012 will be
able to participate.
3. Short Films with a maximum of 30 minutes will be
screened (The selection committee can make exceptions).
MEXICAN
COMPETITION
1. For the official selection: Mexican short films
Competition can be registered in any format of video or film, the production
should be mostly Mexican, regardless nationality of the director or filming
location.
IBEROAMERICAN
COMPETITION
1. For the Iberoamerican competition will be accepted
short Films carried out by Iberoamerican directors with subsidy mainly from
Spain, Portugal and Latin America. Filmed or recorded in any format. To apply
for Iberoamerican competition participants must send an original plus one DVD
with English subtitles without watermark over the image.
INTERNATIONAL
COMPETITION
1. For international competition short films will be
accepted from anywhere in the world. Filmed or recorded in any format. To apply
to international competition participants must send an original plus a DVD with
English subtitles without watermark over the image and the complete dialogue
list in English.
6. For the Mexican official competition section will
be accepted all short recorded in any digital format or filmed in 35mm, 16mm,
8mm, which exhibition format is 35mm, Blu Ray, H.264. (. MOV).
7. For Latin American and International Competition
sections will be accepted all shorts recorded in digital format or filmed in
35mm, 16mm, 8mm, which display format is h.264 (. MOV).
9. The competitive section of the festival will accept
the categories of fiction, animation, documentary and experimental.
10. To be selected is not required to be premiere in
Mexico. Short films that have already been exhibited in any other festival in
Mexico or abroad can participate. Registration is free of charge.
11. The publication of the results will be made
through the social networks and website www.shortshortsfilmfestivalmexico.com
during July 2013.
12. The selection committee’s decision is final and is
at the discretion of it, therefore, will not be given any explanation to the
filmmakers or producers of the unselected work.

Requirements
1. Each participant in the competitive sections must
complete a registration form that is available on the page. www.shortshortsfilmfestivalmexico.com
2. We suggest the preferred method of delivery by Movibeta or the
traditionally way of shipment can be used without problem. We offer both forms
3. For the pre-selection is required to send the
following materials:
• For Mexican films: A copy of the film on DVD
properly labelled with information of the director, title, duration and contact
information.
• For Latin American short films: Two copies of the
film on DVD properly labelled with information of the director, title, duration
and contact information. A DVD in the original language and a copy with
subtitles in English.
•For international short films: A copy of the film on
DVD properly labelled with information of the director, title, duration and
contact information. Must have English subtitles if the original language is
not the same.
The sender shall prepay the shipment of the material
for screening to the following address:

- The Festival shall have no liability for damage or
loss of the DVD during the submission process for the screening.
- The expenses incurred in sending a copy of the film
for screening and promotional materials, or registration shall be borne by who
fits the job. The Festival will take over the payment of the return of copies
of the selected and exhibited at the festival not originated in Mexico City.
(Only for special cases: 35mm copies and Blu Ray)
- All screening materials shall be on SSFFM
video-library, which implies non-refoulement.
- The deadline for receipt of work and materials for
registration is May 31th, 2013.
The festival gives the Movibeta delivery to all Mexican directors, in
order to have this, the director must register by Movibeta and send an email to
info@movibeta.com saying you want to participate in Short Shorts Film Festival
Mexico to be allocated free shipping.
-Selected
films
1. The announcement of the selected works will be done
through the website of the festival in mid-July 2013.
2. Selected works must send a copy on 35mm, h.264.
MOV., Or Blu Ray (for display during the festival) on the dates stipulated by
the festival. In the case of short films whose original language is Spanish is
due to have a English subtitled copy to be used if the film is selected for
international competition that will be held in Tokyo in June 2013, or any of
international presentations of the festival.
3. By completing the registration of short films,
people that own the rights agree to accept these regulations and, therefore, to
exhibit such work during the dates and locations selected by the festival.
4. The festival competitions will be awarded by a jury
chosen by the Festival committee, which shall consist in personalities and
professionals from the film industry, as well as different artistic
disciplines.
5. The jury’s decision is final.
- Tour
1. The Festival have a year-round tour which takes place in Mexico City,
Mexico cities and abroad.
2. All participants will be invited to join the tour.
3. Not required to be part of the tour. The owner of the rights, Will
decide If they want to participate or not. If They agree, They can participate
by applying for a permit.
4. Not conditioning if participated during the exhibition in Mexico City
from 5 to 11 September.
